“Industrial XR Clouds on Open Standards” - Fraunhofer IDG

StartUps/Hochschulen

Industrial XR Clouds allow the fusion of digital and real product experiences, making it possible to experience the Digital Twin in an interactive environment. It is important that industrial 3D data and IoT sensor data are made available in a multi-device or multi-user scenario. The goal is to be able to use them on different classes of devices, such as AR glasses and mobile devices and sophisticated data configurations.

An intelligent combination of open standards such as JT, WebXR and other web interfaces are the key to an efficient and cost-effective implementation in distributed industrial environments.

Virtual Reality - Training

Exhibition 1

* Describing the "accessible added value" is a task for anyone thinking about an industrial application of Virtual Reality.
* The definition of scenarios for an evaluation or pilot is a prerequisite for a successful rollout. This and employees concerns (should not be forgotten) .
* The presentation will be held in Virtual Reality and streamed through Microsoft teams. So you get a strong impression of the efficiency in meetings with Virtual Reality, even without having VR glasses.

"Virtual Reality - Trainings" is a learning frontend, where learners can participate in meetings with VR glasses or on the PC or even with their mobile phones. Your existing training documents (e.g. PowerPoint, videos, webinars) are displayed in the Virtual Reality rooms. An integration in CAD (NX) or ERP systems (SAP) is available to show, disassemble or operate your products.

Live trainings in VR are held via an avatar. All human movements are transferred to the avatar and shown live to all participants.

XR as the key to the real estate design and marketing of the future - XCYDE

Exhibition 4

With PORTER we have developed an intelligent software platform for interactive real-time sampling and high-end visualization of real estate projects.

In concrete terms, this means that PORTER ensures that real estate projects can be walked through, sampled and experienced digitally and in real size right from the design and planning phase - and this in a realistic manner. A unique selling point are the connected original product databases of manufacturers.

Project developers benefit from PORTER above all through earlier marketing opportunities for their properties, and manufacturers through the expansion of their distribution channels.

We show how we use XR, among other things, to create a truly authentic "real estate experience". Step into our real estate world!

SolidWhite - Why immersive 3D apps are important for remote workshops & meetings

Exhibition 1

Besides physical workshop and meeting rooms, virtual rooms will become more and more important in the future as an extension or replacement. However, virtual rooms are still often represented today by 2D whiteboards. This will no longer be sufficient for the user of tomorrow. 3D room design creates a new workshop & meeting experience with easy interaction and orientation. New worlds are created and the use of your own avatars further enhances this. Don't we as participants all want to be more than a mouse cursor and name label?

The VISPA app will deliver this experience in the future. Learn more about it in our presentation and become part of the VISPA community.

VTX Software / AR Remote Training / VR Training Simulator

How do you meet the increasing and complex challenges and stay fit for the future? With digital product training and virtual training. Find out how your technical data is turned into knowledge in virtual learning environments and simulated working and production worlds. Then get an impression for yourself and immerse yourself in one of our three live examples with our experts.

PRESENTATION OF THE SOFTWARE VTX: VIRTUAL-TOOL-EXPERIENCE UNDER FOUR ASPECTS:

Dive in live into the interoperable VTX software and see the variety of possibilities. Exchange between different software systems (keyword IFC as "the" exchange format), between front- and backend systems, different data types (as-built, geo, planning data, etc.), different display modes (3D, VR, AR) and between the displayed objects themselves (keyword "interactivity" in 3D & VR, such as the different navigation and documentation modes, showing/hiding object attributes or displaying construction process simulations, etc.).
- VTX is adaptable & open regarding the dynamic and unpredictable requirements of a company's digitalization.
- VTX is user-friendly because it has evolved from the design practice of and with engineers for easy CAD data validation and is being developed further in this spirit.
- VTX provides virtualization expertise because its use creates feedback and allows a company to digitally "adapt" itself to its specific needs and requirements - and to develop accordingly.

PRESENTATION OF AN AR REMOTE TRAINING SCENARIO
From non-professional worker to expert - simply with the support of AR. Users of the AR app discover a car autonomously and learn about vehicle systems and component functions quickly and comprehensibly by means of information overlays. Independent of current or future devices thanks to the flexible and adaptable app concept. Take a look at the essential features with us and get inspired for your own AR training - live!

PRESENTATION OF A VR DRILLING SIMULATOR OF OUR COOPERATION PARTNER FROM BERLIN
Difficult to see or difficult to access - a VR simulation makes even the most complicated things visible. Our Berlin-based cooperation partner Datenflug has been developing VR tunneling simulators with VR simulation technology and usability for years, each of which is state-of-the-art. Join us and lets take a look at their VR simulator solution.

Virtual acoustic product development - Fraunhofer IDMT

Exhibition 3

With VIPRA, Fraunhofer IDMT presents a new tool for digital product development that makes the sound of virtual products a realistic experience for the first time - even before a first prototype has to be built.

VIPRA provides an exact, acoustically three-dimensional image of the virtual prototype. Acoustic properties such as volume, timbre or the intensity of sound radiation in different directions in space can be heard reliably and in real time from any perspective. The acoustic quality of the finished product can thus be experienced with one's own senses during the development phase and its effect can be individually assessed.

  *   Describing the “real added value” is a task for everyone who plans industrial usage of virtual reality. Part 1

  *   The definition of the scenarios for an evaluation or pilot is a prerequisite for the successful rollout. This and concerns of employees (should not be forgotten) are also content.

  *   The presentation will be held in virtual reality and streamed over Microsoft teams. So, you get a good impression of the efficiency in meetings with virtual reality, even without having VR glasses.

"Virtual Reality - Trainings" is a learning frontend, in which the learners take part in VR glasses or with PC or with mobile phone. Your existing training documents (e.g. PowerPoint, videos, webinars) are visualized in the virtual reality rooms and an integration in CAD (NX) or ERP systems (SAP) is available to visualize, disassemble or operate your products.

Live trainings in VR are held over an avatar by transferring all human movements to the avatar and showing this avatar live to all participants.

Why Future Industrial Augmented Reality needs Assistive Computer Vision – About the Fusion of CAD & Advanced Vision for AR-enhanced Industrial Inspection

Exhibition 2

When it comes to industrial augmented reality, advanced computer vision is key to enable sophisticated AR cases. In our talk we explain how we enable “Assistive Computer Vision” with VisionLib and how industries can benefit from computer vision's potential beyond the point of using tracking only for blending 3D graphics.

Imagine an AR-assisted maintenance, where the vision system checks whether or not a hood is open, a screw installed, or a machine part assembled. Fusing CAD data with image processing, industries can utilize the strength of AR tracking to measure, check for existence, deviations, or assess orientation and position of components.

By not only superimposing digital twins on real objects, but using such vision services, future industrial AR Apps not only rely on visualization but benefit from vision-assisted techniques, which adds tremendous value to XR – more, than is utilised now.

SUNSET GATHERING – Live Streams

We are looking forward to welcome you to our evening event "Sunset Gathering" on the first day of the XR Expo.
Exclusivly, we therefore created an extraordinary location and virtual space in which carefully selected experts from different kind of divisions/areas will discuss the future of XR events.

There will be different platforms on which four hosts will answer and discuss the asked questions of the invited guests to the themes as follows:

Human (Host: Lars Riedemann), perception & experience
Live-Stream: https://youtu.be/FwWgVCAFpeo

Content (Host: Jan Pflüger), contents & benefits
Live-Stream: https://youtu.be/zdnQ5N8Yn1c

Staging (Host: Günter Wenzel), Virtual Environment and Staging
Live-Stream: https://youtu.be/YFFLHF0Uowk

Technology (Host: Henning Linn), software and hardware
Live-Stream: https://youtu.be/iuyMd6jvBlU

People around the world are able to follow the parallel streaming hosts via Live Stream.

An exciting change of scenes is leading to the summary of the discussion at the end. The Sunset Gathering is more than just a big discussion round.

For the first time ever, there will be single users as well as user groups with large-scale VR installations participating in such an event format. It is an outstanding live experiment as well. Using the VR medium the direct and active experience takes place in the discussion.

The VR COLLABORATION SOFTWARE “HCC” by LIGHTSHAPE enables this newly format.

At 5:45 p.m. (MET) the gates will open for the Live Stream and the picked guests for the Sunset Gathering.

At 7:20 p.m. (MET) we would like to test the limits and welcome as many users on the
VR platform as possible - until it will collapse virtually…
(for everybody)

You may download the software needed here (as of now):
